Ottawa Fire Services is reminding people to stay away from waterways after a Tuesday afternoon rescue in the far west pond at Andrew Hayden Park.
Ottawa Fire said in a news release that firefighters were dispatched after two 911 calls came in around 5:50 p.m. reporting a man in the water with two small dogs.
All were rescued from the pond and the man was being treated by paramedics.
Ottawa Fire said ice is very thin and presents a great risk of falling through.
