Classic rockers Fleetwood Mac will be bringing their new lineup to Canadian Tire Centre Nov. 3 as part of a 50-city North American tour.
Running through the spring of 2019, it features the newly announced lineup of Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie along with newcomers Mike Campbell, long-time guitarist with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and singer Neil Finn, formerly of Crowded House.
The band announced in earlier this month that former frontman Lindsay Buckingham would be going his own way.
The band said in a statement that it’s always been a “creative evolution” — a spirit they’ll honour in their upcoming tour, playing a blend of hits and surprises from their “historic catalogue.”
“Fleetwood Mac has always been about an amazing collection of songs that are performed with a unique blend of talents,” the band said in a statement. “We jammed with Mike and Neil and the chemistry really worked and let the band realize that this is the right combination to go forward with in Fleetwood Mac style. We know we have something new, yet it’s got the unmistakable Mac sound.”
The band, which has sold more than 100 million records and been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, has had a changing lineup. It was founded by Peter Green in 1967 and named after Mick Fleetwood and John McVie. Green left in 1969 with Fleetwood and McVie remained as original members, adding Christine McVie in 1970 and Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham in 1974.
Tickets go on sale May 4 at 10 a.m. and can be purchased at http://www.Ticketmaster.ca, http://www.canadiantirecentre.com, by phone at 1-877-788-FANS. They are also available at selected Canadian Tire stores in Ottawa as well as the store in Perth, The Sens Store at Carlingwood Mall, Place d’Orléans and in the ByWard Market, Algonquin College, Superior Photo and at the Canadian Tire Centre box office, although there are no sales at the CTC box office.
