The good news is that the word “flurries” has disappeared from the local forecast and we’re now in for a plain-old rainy Saturday.

Up first for Friday, which is a PA day for kids in Ottawa’s biggest school board, features mixed skies, a high of 15 C and a low of 8 C, Environment Canada predicts.

Showers begin overnight then Saturday’s high is a forecast 12 C. There’s a 40 per cent chance of more rain overnight – it had been a risk of flurries in earlier forecasts – and a low of 2 C.

Sunday’s outlook is for mixed skies, a 30 per cent chance of showers – couldn’t they say that there’s a 70 per cent chance it will be dry? – a high of 6 C and a low of 0 C.

Monday’s forecast is for pure sunshine, a high of 18 C and a low of 7 C.

May begins with sunshine and summer-like highs of 21 C Tuesday and 22 C Wednesday.

Clouds and a 30 per cent chance of showers roll back in Wednesday night with a low of 13 C.

Thursday is cloudy with a 40 per cent chance of showers and a high of 20 C.

And here’s a sign of the times.

We are closed for the ski season, the weather isn't on our side for one last weekend. Thank you all for a wonderful season! pic.twitter.com/9vWziD5bwC
