After a cold, wet weekend, Ottawa is heading into a string of warm and mostly sunny days — just in time for most people to go back to work.
The forecast calls for highs of 22 C on Tuesday and 23 C on Wednesday. If you’re counting (and we are) these will be the first days to break the 22-degree mark since last Oct. 21.
Monday won’t be quite that nice, but it’s still an improvement on the weekend. The forecast high is 16 C with a mix of sunshine and possibly some passing showers.
The second half of the week looks rainy so far.
We are now racing through spring in terms of sunshine. Ottawa will get 14 hours and 15 minutes of daylight Monday, the greatest amount since last August 12. We are gaining about three minutes a day.
