Officials from the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care are investigating after an elderly woman fell to her death at a Carling Avenue nursing home April 17.
According to paramedics, emergency responders found the deceased woman outside the nursing home at 2330 Carling Ave., at around 9 am. It was clear she had suffered severe trauma as a result of a fall from a great height.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ottawa police said they are not investigating the incident.
However, a spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care said the ministry has launched an inquiry into the woman’s death.
The investigation is ongoing.
