Two adults and a seven-month-old baby were displaced by fire that broke out in the early hours of Friday morning in the city’s west end.

The fire department received a number of 911 calls at 1:33 a.m. reporting flames at 2670 Stone Cres., near Morrison Drive.

The roof was on fire as crews arrived minutes later and they declared a second alarm at 1:44 a.m. to summon more resources to the ranch-style bungalow.

The fire, which began in the back of the house and spread through the walls, was under control at 2:45 a.m. and out at 2:56 a.m.

Paramedics said one person was assessed at the scene, but did not require hospitalization.

A fire investigator was dispatched to the scene. Damage is pegged at $250,000.
