A 29-year-old man has been charged with stabbing two men in unrelated attacks that both took place on May 11.

A little before 9 a.m. that day, one man was stabbed at a house on Garneau Street. He suffered wounds to his arms and legs, but managed to stagger around the corner to a business on Eddy Street and ask for help.

Witnesses at the scene of the stabbing chased away the man who assailed him, police said. The victim did not know his attacker.

On the same day, around 3 p.m., another man was stabbed at 66 F.-X.-Bouvier St. in the Gatineau sector. The victim, a 54-year-old man, was seriously injured in the abdomen.

He was rushed to hospital where the doctors found wounds to his lungs and kidneys.

Police interviewed witnesses and gathered forensic evidence and concluded the same attacker stabbed both victims.

Late Thursday, they arrested Vincent Cécire-Pelletier, 29, on assault and weapons charges.
