Police are looking for a suspect accused of sucker-punching a man who was waiting for food in a Bells Corners restaurant with his service dog.

Investigators say the May 26 assault on Robertson Road was “unprovoked.”

When the victim turned around at about 9:30 p.m., the suspect punched him in the face then fled on foot, police allege.

The suspect is described as a white man, 20 to 30 years old and five feet nine inches tall with an athletic build and dark brown hair in a buzz cut.

He was clean-shaven and wore jeans, a red T-shirt and black hoodie.

Anyone with information is asked to call Cst. Carissa Beck of the west criminal investigations unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 2648. Anonymous tips can be made to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477or by downloading the Ottawa police app.
