Traffic impacts in Ottawa for the coming days – beginning Saturday June 9

Upcoming projects will have the following impacts on Ottawa traffic:

  • St. Anthony’s Church Weekend (June 9th and 10th) – Booth Street will be closed between Louisa Street and Willow Street and Gladstone Street will be closed between Lebreton Street North and Rochester Street.
    • Saturday, June 9 from 6 pm to 11 pm
    • Sunday, June 10 from 9 am to midnight – There will also be rolling road closures beginning at 10:15 am for the church procession on Preston Street, Willow Street, Norman Street, Adeline Street, Gladstone Avenue and Booth Street.
  • Italian Festival (June 15th to 17th)
    • Friday June 15
      • Preston Street Weekend – From 4 pm to 1 am, Preston Street will be closed between Carling Avenue and Anderson Street. Gladstone Avenue will be closed between Rochester Street and Loretta Avenue. Beech Street will be closed between Champagne Avenue and Railway Street.
    • Saturday, June 16 from 4 pm to 1 am and Sunday, June 17 from 5 pm to midnight
      • Preston Street will be closed from Poplar Street to Carling Avenue.
      • Beech Street will be closed from Railway Street to Preston Street.
      • Gladstone will be closed from Rochester Street to Loretta Avenue.
    • Saturday, June 16 – Italian Car Parade
      • From 9 am to 3 pm, Norman Street will be closed east of Preston Street
      • From 1 pm to 3 pm, Preston Street will also be closed between Somerset Street and Beech Street.
    • Saturday, June 16 – Ferrari Demo Zone
      • From noon to 5 pm, Carling Avenue will be closed from Champagne Avenue to Booth Street
      • From 2 pm to 5 pm, Champagne Avenue will be closed at Carling Avenue and Preston Street will be closed from Carling Avenue to Adeline Street.
    • Sunday, June 17 – Preston Street Criterium
      • From 7 am to 5 pm, Rochester Street will be closed between Aberdeen Street and Carling Avenue. Norfolk Avenue will be closed between Adeline Street and Carling Avenue. Aberdeen, Beech, Norman, Pamilla and Adeline Streets will be closed between Preston Street and Rochester Street.
  • Navy Bike Ride – Numerous roads in the downtown area will be closed June 9 from 8 am to 11 am to accommodate the Navy Bike Ride, including the Alexandra Bridge and the Portage Bridge. Find information on all planned road closures and maps on the Navy Bike Ride website.
  • Booth Street – There will be intermittent lane reductions on Booth Street between Albert Street and the Sir John A Macdonald Parkway from Sunday, June 10 until Tuesday July 31. The work will take place outside of peak periods and is required to make improvements to the Booth Street Bridge, including adding cycling lanes and cycle tracks along the corridor.
  • Vanier Parkway – There will be intermittent lane reductions between Montreal Road and Beechwood Avenue from Monday, June 11 until Friday, July 20. The work will take place outside of peak periods and is required to allow for the resurfacing of the roadway and other related work.
  • Hunt Club Road – There will be lane reductions on Hunt Club Road between Cedarview Road and Greenbank Road from Monday, June 11 until Wednesday, July 25. The work will take place outside of peak periods and is required to allow for the resurfacing of the roadway and other related work.
  • East Culvert Replacement – There will be several roads closed in the east end of the city to allow for the replacement of 15 different culverts under the roadway. Work will begin June 11 starting with Lowen Drive. Other locations will follow, with work expected to wrap up on the final location in October. The roads effected include:
    • Lowen Drive west of River Road (full road closure)
    • Mer Bleue Road south of Wall Road (lane closures)
    • Du Palais Street west of Mer Bleue Road (full road closure)
    • Du Domaine Street west of Mer Bleue Road (full road closure)
    • Trim Road north of Smith Road (lane closures)
    • Russell Road east of Farmers Way (lane closures)
    • Old Montreal Road west of Quigley Hill Road (lane closures)
    • River Road north of Roger Stevens Drive (lane closures)
    • River Road south of Roger Stevens Drive (lane closures)
    • River Road 0.5 km south of Cabin Road (lane closures)
    • River Road immediately south of Cabin Road (lane closures)
    • River Road south of Roger Stevens Drive (lane closures)
    • Dalmeny Road east of River Road (lane closures)
    • Cabin Road east of River Road (full road closure)
    • Stagecoach Road south of Dalmeny Road (lane closures)
