At least one person was in critical condition after a crash at Hawthorne Road and Hunt Club Road on Saturday afternoon, Ottawa Fire Services said.
Ottawa Paramedic Service Supt. Keith Buchanan said the seven-patient collision at 4:45 sent two people to the trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.
Firefighters said they had been alerted by police of a collision involving “a car versus a telephone pole,” with one person indicating they had been trapped.
One person was extricated and three other occupants were also cared for, a news release stated. One person was listed as being in critical condition after the extrication at about 5 p.m., and there were also reports of critical or life-threatening civilian injuries, fire services said.
