Between nostalgic rock shows, vintage car shows and fascinating programming at City museums, you can travel back in time over and over again during Father’s Day weekend.

What’s Happening Ottawa provides the latest on theatre, music and outings for the entire family. Some shows sell out quickly, so be sure to look ahead at what’s happening in the coming weeks and get your tickets early.

Accompanied by the Rockin’ Royals Band, this show will feature incredible tributes to Buddy Holly (Zachary Stevenson), Elvis (Dean Z), Motown (The Tonettes), and Music Hits from the 50s and 60s (Pete Paquette).



Ottawa Indian Film Festival Awards

June 13 to 16

This special event will showcase Indian films, support Indian filmmakers, recognize various performers and business executives, and promote the diverse perspectives of the Indian diaspora.

Could you navigate using only familiar landmarks in the night sky? Learn more about early navigation on the Ottawa River and explore the basics of astronomy with a guide from #popscope. (Dependent on weather and circumstances). Lantern-lit tours of the manor house are available on request.

Father’s Day BBQ: From Grain to Glass
Fairfields Heritage House
Saturday, June 16

Bring the family to a Father’s Day community barbecue. Explore the history of beer and how it is made. Taste wort (unfermented beer), learn about the various kiln levels of barley, and smell different strains of hops. Brian Gunther, a silver and bronze medal winner in Beau’s 2017 brewing competition, will share his knowledge on beer production.

Celebrate Father’s Day in style at our Vintage Car Show. Check out the antique cars on display from local exhibitors and don’t miss out on viewing the Billings’ 1959 Cadillac Sedan de Ville! Enjoy a guided tour of the museum and explore our latest exhibition — City in Motion. Kids can take up our scavenger hunt challenge and our compass building activity is sure to be fun for the whole family!



Polish Day in Ottawa
