Ottawa police closed downtown streets Thursday afternoon as they tried to find a man reported to be armed.
Police were pursuing a stolen vehicle when the driver of that vehicle got into a collision. He then fled the scene on foot, and was reported to be armed with a gun. Police closed the roads in the vicinity of King Edward Avenue and Laurier Avenue while they attempted to locate the man.
Police warned the public to steer clear of the area at 4:30 p.m. and again at 4:45 p.m.
