Although a 25-year-old man from Ontario died at last weekend’s Rockfest event in Montebello, police said the festival was largely free of serious problems.

Quebec police are still investigating the death of the young man found unconscious in his tent, but they don’t believe for the moment that there was any crime involved.

The rest of the event went pretty smoothly, the Sûreté du Québec reported Tuesday.

Their involvement was limited to:

• Handing out 36 traffic tickets, mostly for speeding but three for car-surfing. They also towed 10 cars;

• Officers on the water handed out 20 warnings and eight tickets, and ordered three boats out of the water;

• Drug seizures added up to 150 tablets of methamphetamine, 20 grams of cocaine, 50 g of marijuana and 65 millilitres of GHB.

They also seized $1,800 in cash.
