The Town of Renfrew lifted a precautionary boil water advisory Wednesday evening after water tests showed it’s safe to use and drink after a watermain break Monday.
The 450 affected homes and businesses north of the Bonnechere River are advised to run all cold water faucets and flush garden hoses, both for one minute, before using the water.
The boil water advisory was issued at 4:30 p.m. Monday when the water distribution system temporarily lost pressure during the “major” break. It was lifted at 6 p.m. Thursday.
Residents can call the town at 613-432-4848 or the Renfrew County District Health Unit at 613-735-8654, ext. 555 if they have further concerns or questions.
