Students and staff of an Orléans high school moved to neighbouring schools Thursday morning after the school was the target of an e-mailed threat for a second time within months.

This time it’s on what was supposed to be the last day of classes.

The Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est board board said that a threat to École secondaire catholique Béatrice-Desloges was received and as a precautionary step staff and students who had already arrived at school were gathered and accompanied to nearby schools.

“The safety and well-being of each student is a priority for the school and council,” the board said in an online statement.

City police said they received a report of the “cyber-threat” at 6:20 a.m. and were investigating but had yet to substantiate a threat.

In April, the Orléans school closed for the day and cancelled buses as a precaution after it said some staff members had received an emailed threat. Staff were asked to return to school later that day and students the following day after officials met with police who would confirm only that they are investigating.
