Ottawa police warned motorists to avoid the area of Smyth Road and Barnhart Place Tuesday morning after a multi-vehicle collision downed two power poles.
There were no reported injuries, paramedics said.
Hydro Ottawa said that the Alta Vista outage affected 380 customers who were expected to have power restored at 11:30 a.m.
Police said that there are lane reductions in the area and Smyth is closed from Alta Vista to Lynda Lane. Access to CHEO and the General campus is available off of Alta Vista, north of Smyth Road, on the hospital ring road, police said.
