It’s hot out there, and Canada Day is one of the biggest party days of the year in Ottawa.

We’re compiling tips on surviving the heat from local police, paramedics, OC Transpo, and anyone else out there that can make your day just a bit more comfortable. By the way, at 11:30, Canadian Heritage was saying there were no wait times to get access to Parliament Hill.

Crowds are reported to be down from previous years.

Here’s what you need to know about security measures on the Hill for Canada Day.

Having or going to a BBQ?

Don't forget to always use separate plates and utensils for the raw hamburgers and the cooked hamburgers.
