One person fled a home in Gatineau after it caught fire when it was struck by lightning on Monday afternoon.
Around 3:30 p.m., firefighters responded to a call to find a fire in the attic of a home on rue des Noyers. According to the Service de sécurité incendie de Gatineau (SSIG), there was only one person in the home.
The cause of the fire, said the SSIG, was a lightning strike.
Firefighters say they brought the fire under control within an hour and will not be sending a fire investigator to the scene.
Damage was estimated at $10,000.
