以前的KNL 7/8/9. RR4 ZONING 和RR1/2/3, KE, HH类似,以SINGLE HOME 和 TOWNHOUSE搭配。 现在这修正案要引入高密度4层建筑群。如果让提议者得逞, 人口将继续大量增加,交通,等等,也会加快新高中建设的步伐。对现有的卡北居民利益是不利的。

Public Meeting – KNL Rezoning Request

When: Thursday, August 16th, 7pm
Where: Beaverbrook Library (Mlacak Centre), 2500 Campeau Drive

A rezoning request has been received asking to change the zoning on all of their remaining development, phases 7, 8 and 9 to R4 rather than the present R3. Although both zones can be used for town houses and singles, the R4 would also permit low rise buildings (up to 4 storeys). I’m working with the City Planner to keep the R3 zoning for Phase 9 (which will be built first) and deferring the zoning for phases 7 & 8 until more details are known. Check my website for the date of a possible public meeting on this rezoning. KNL is now planning to commence rock blasting and removal in phase 9 in mid-August.

人口密度增加,长远来看不是坏事。配套设施会增加,生活会更方便

那也是。居民区增大人口密度是正确的措施。
渥太华这寒冷地方,人口密度大便于节省很多的开销:扫雪,各种水管长度,路上开车时间等等。
也便于增加公共设施的利用率。
 
密度增加 人口增长 property tax税能降低点吗?
 
KNL-9 这么搞,首当其冲的是KE和WALDEN北BEAVER POND居民,这两片都是高价区。如果KNL-9高密修改成功,以后会波及RR4, KNL 7/8, Richcraft High Land........
 
将来还会建高层公寓。
