OC Transpo’s fall service starts Sunday, September 2. Many route changes will be made and new route numbers introduced to get ready for the opening of O-Train Line 1, the Confederation Line, later this year. Other fall service changes include adjusted schedules to reflect the higher demand for service as customers return to work and school.

Route changes to special school service
School services will be revised to match bell times, and some trips will be renumbered based on service changes happening across the city. Check octranspo.com for the list of affected school trips.
Eligible elementary and secondary students will receive their youth transit pass on a Presto card at school. Other customers aged 13 to 19 can get a youth discount set on their Presto card at an OC Transpo Customer Service Centre or at select Shoppers Drug Mart, Loblaws or Real Canadian Superstore locations with proof of age.
Fall/Winter U-Pass
Eligible university and college students can pick up or reload their 2018-19 U‑Pass on campus at Carleton University, Saint Paul University, the University of Ottawa and Algonquin College. The Fall/Winter U-Pass is valid from September 1, 2018 until April 30, 2019. The 2018 Summer U-Pass expires August 31, 2018.
Route 107 renumbered as R2
Route 107, which only runs as a temporary bus service if train service on O-Train Line 2 is disrupted, will be renumbered as R2 starting September 2. The R2 route will be the same as the old Route 107.
Recreational destination service ends
Special summer weekend service will end after Labour Day on Route 129 to the Canada Aviation and Space Museum, Route 139 to Petrie Island, and Route 185 to the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum and Experimental Farm.
Construction detours
Routes 6, 7, 9, 10 (former Route 4), 11, 16, 17, 18 and 19 will detour around roadwork on Queen Street due to the ongoing Queen Street Renewal project. Routes 283 and 301 will continue to detour around roadwork on the Richmond Bridge in the village of Richmond. Route 40 will detour when the intersection of St. Laurent Boulevard and Walkley Road is closed for utility work.
Reminder: Old paper bus tickets have expired
OC Transpo no longer accepts paper bus tickets on board. After Friday, August 31, paper bus tickets will no longer be exchangeable towards new fare products at OC Transpo Customer Service Centres. Customers should use Presto e-purse or cash instead—it will cost the same or less. On Para Transpo, use ParaPay or cash. At O-Train stations, you can use ticket machines to buy single-ride tickets for immediate use.
Labour Day
On Monday, September 3, OC Transpo will operate a Sunday schedule, meaning only those routes that normally run on Sundays will be in service. Summer service to museums and recreational destinations on Routes 129, 139 and 185 will be running. Holiday schedules are available at octranspo.com.
The DayPass will be valid as a family pass on Labour Day. A family or group of up to six people, with a maximum of two individuals aged 13 or older, can ride all day with one $10.50 DayPass.
OC Transpo Customer Service Centres and the Transit Information Line (613-741-4390) will be open. On Saturday, September 1, Customer Service Centres at Lincoln Fields, Place d’Orléans and St-Laurent will also be open from 11 am to 5 pm.
Para Transpo will operate a holiday service on Labour Day. Regular scheduled trips are automatically cancelled. Book trips for Labour Day by calling 613-244-7272 on or after August 27.

- Route 11 – Shortened to connect to the future Parliament Station and end at Confederation Square to improve reliability.
- Route 12 – Shortened to connect to the future Rideau Station and end on Queen Street at Metcalfe Street to improve reliability.
- Route 16 – Modified to connect to the future Parliament Station.
- Route 19 – Modified to end at the future Parliament Station.
Orléans
- Route 32 – Extended to Blair Station. Service between Jeanne d’Arc Station and Place d’Orléans Station will be replaced by Route 34 along Fortune Drive and by Route 131 along St. Joseph Boulevard.
- Route 34 – Combined with Route 134 into new all-day Route 34.
- Route 38 – Combined with the section of Route 131 north of Highway 174 into new all-day Route 38.
- Route 131 – Service removed north of Highway 174, instead running along St. Joseph Boulevard where it will replace sections of Routes 32 and 134.
- Route 134 – Combined into new all-day Route 34.
- New Route 138 – Will run between Place d’Orléans Station and the Saint-Louis Residence.
Vanier and Overbrook
- Route 18 – Revised routing for a more direct trip to St-Laurent Station.
- Route 19 – Revised routing for a more direct trip to St-Laurent Station. Service east of Marier Avenue will be replaced by new Route 20.
- New Route 20 – Will run between St-Laurent Station and Beechwood Avenue, replacing a section of Route 19 and continuing to serve the Montfort Hospital and the Richelieu-Vanier Community Centre.
The Ottawa Hospital, General Campus
- Route 45 – Service increased to operate seven days a week between Hurdman Station and the General Campus of the Ottawa Hospital, including the Ring Road. Overnight service to and from LeBreton Station on Route 106 will be part of Route 45.
- Route 106 – Modified to run between Riverside Station and St-Laurent Station, and removed from part of the Ring Road on the General Campus (service replaced by Route 45). This is a temporary route until the opening of O-Train Line 1.
Lincoln Fields
- Route 11 – Modified to provide a new connection between Richmond Road and Lincoln Fields Station. Will run between Lincoln Fields Station and downtown. Service to and from Bayshore Station will continue to be provided by Route 97 on Richmond Road and Route 85 on Carling Avenue.
Other service changes
- Route 28 – Service adjusted to run every 30 minutes during weekday peak periods, and every hour during weekday and Saturday evenings, to better match current ridership patterns. On weekday evenings and all day on Saturday, service will be adjusted to follow the current Sunday routing, travelling along Bearbrook Road directly to the Blackburn Arena.
- Route 277 – New trip added in the afternoon to increase capacity and better match current ridership.
- Routes 87 and 170 – Frequency adjusted in the morning to better match expected ridership patterns.
- Route 19 – Frequency adjusted in the morning, midday and evening to better match expected ridership patterns.
