Ottawa – The City of Ottawa Elections Office will be holding a photo and interview opportunity with Rick O’Connor, City Clerk and Solicitor, on the first day of Special Advance Voting, which runs from October 4 to 7, 2018.
Date: Thursday, October 4, 2018
Time: 12:30 pm
Location: Jean Pigott Place, at the south side near Andrew Haydon Hall (Council Chamber)
City Hall, 110 Laurier Avenue West
During Special Advance Voting (October 4 to October 7, 2018), photo opportunities will be available from 10 am to 8 pm at all six voting locations:

- City Hall, 110 Laurier Ave West;
- François Dupuis Recreation Centre, 2263 Portobello Boulevard;
- Greenboro Community Centre, 363 Lorry Greenberg Drive;
- Minto Recreation Complex - Barrhaven, 3500 Cambrian Road; and
- Richcraft Recreation Complex - Kanata, 4101 Innovation Drive.
Media are asked to follow the rules of conduct:
- Media coverage must not interfere with the operation of the voting place.
- There are no interviews or scrums allowed within the voting place.
- The media should respect the privacy of individuals in the voting place and the secrecy of the ballot.
- All media must respect the wishes of residents who do not want to be photographed.
- Camera crews and still photographers may take general visuals of individuals who are entering the voting place, as well as the voting process – registering, being handed a ballot, walking to the privacy screen, and bringing the ballot in a privacy sleeve to the Supporting Deputy Returning Officer for processing in the vote tabulator.
