Photo and interview opportunity for Voting Day on October 22

The City of Ottawa Elections Office will hold a photo and interview opportunity with Rick O’Connor, City Clerk and Solicitor, and his designate on Voting Day, Monday, October 22, for the 2018 Municipal Elections.

Location: Richelieu-Vanier Community Centre, 300 des Pères-Blancs Avenue

Media are asked to follow the rules of conduct:

• Media coverage must not interfere with the smooth operation of the voting place.
• Respect the privacy of individuals in the voting place and the secrecy of the ballot. Camera crews and still photographers may take general visuals of individuals who are entering the voting place, as well as of the voting process – registering, being handed a ballot, walking to the privacy screen and bringing the ballot inserted in a privacy sleeve to the Supporting Deputy Returning Officer for processing in the vote tabulator.
• Respect the wishes of residents who do not want to be photographed.
• There are no interviews or scrums allowed within the voting place.
