Upcoming events and projects will have the following impacts on Ottawa traffic:

  • Elgin Street: Hydro Ottawa work continues along the east side of Elgin Street between Waverley Street and Lisgar Street. On-street parking on both sides of Elgin Street is prohibited within these blocks. This phase of Hydro Ottawa’s work to bury overhead hydro lines should be completed late this fall. Visit ottawa.ca/elginstreet to stay up to date on project-related traffic impacts
  • Highway 417: From Monday, December 17 to Thursday, December 20. Highway 417 will experience overnight lane reductions between 11 pm and 4 am, for the installation of traffic signs, weather permitting. Westbound lane reductions are expected east of the Parkdale on ramp and the Island Park off ramp. The Parkdale Avenue on-ramp to Highway 417 will be closed during the westbound lane reductions. Eastbound lane reductions are expected between the Carling on-ramp and the Parkdale Avenue off-ramp.
  • Queen Elizabeth Driveway: On Monday, December 17 between 9 am to 3 pm, the Queen Elizabeth Driveway southbound lane will be closed from Pretoria Bridge to Catherine Street, to allow the removal and reinstatement of asphalt as part of the Elgin Street renewal project. Flag persons will control motorists on the open lane of the Queen Elizabeth Driveway during the work.
