A 48-year-old woman has died following a head-on collision on Moodie Drive Thursday morning.
Ottawa paramedics report that the woman was pronounced dead of “multi-system trauma” at the scene of the crash, just north of Cambrian Road.
The collision was reported at 7:41 a.m.
An off-duty military medic initiated resuscitation on the woman, who was found in cardiac arrest.
A child, around 10 years old, was stabilized in the vehicle by paramedics as he was extricated by firefighters. He was taken to the pediatric trauma centre in serious condition with head and leg injuries. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.
A third patient, a man who was driving the second vehicle, suffered neck injuries and was taken to hospital in stable condition.
No further details were available.
Moodie Drive remained closed between Cambrian and McKenna Case Drive as the investigation continued but reopened around 4 p.m.
