Candidate filing period open for April 15 Rideau-Rockcliffe By-election

The City of Ottawa’s 2019 Rideau-Rockcliffe By-election will take place on Monday, April 15.

Candidates have until Friday, March 1 at 2 pm to file their nominations for the Office of City Councillor, Ward 13 – Rideau-Rockcliffe. Nominations must be filed in person, at the City of Ottawa Elections Office, located at 1221B Cyrville Road, or by appointment with the City Clerk at City Hall, 110 Laurier Avenue West, during regular office hours.

A person is eligible to be a candidate for City Councillor if they are:

• A resident of the City of Ottawa, or an owner or tenant of land in the City of Ottawa, or the spouse of such an owner or tenant
• A Canadian citizen
• At least 18 years old
• Not legally prohibited from voting
