Yes and no. I used to study in St. Catharines -- about 30 minutes drive away from Buffalo. Many studied there since the degree is shorter and easier to get.
In fact people used to shop groceries and buy gasoline across the border every weekend, at the time when the Canadian dollar was higher.
There is only one thing quite different now. This is now post 9/11. I don't imagine going over the border everyday is quite the same business as it used to be.
Nope. As long as you are Canidian citizen, it will be the same as it used to be.
I acrossed border twice recently, first time it took me about 4 minutes. Second time, they did not even ask for my ID. So...you see.
