The City of Ottawa wants your input on the projects, policies, programs and services that affect your daily life. From open houses to workshops and online engagement opportunities, your feedback helps to shape City decisions.

• Tuesday, May 28
  ByWard Market Public Realm Plan

  Residents are invited to participate in one of two identical workshops on the ByWard Market Public Realm Plan. This is an opportunity to give feedback on the proposed plans for the ByWard Market Streets and public space. Registration is required to participate. Residents need only participate in one workshop session.

  Richmond Road – Combined Watermain Replacement and Cycle Track

  Residents are invited to a public information session, to provide comments on the proposed watermain reconstruction on Richmond Road, between Redwood and Fraser avenues.
  
• Wednesday, May 29
  89 Richmond Road – Public information Session
  Hilson Avenue Public School

  6:30 to 8:30 pm
  Residents are invited to a public information session about a Site Plan Control application for a six-storey, mixed-use building at 89 Richmond Road. The event is hosted by Kitchissippi Ward Councillor, Jeff Leiper.
  
• Saturday, June 1
  Inspire 555: Spaces and Relationships in-person workshop
  University of Ottawa - Tabaret Hall, Room Huguette Labelle 112
  550 Cumberland Street
  9:30 to 11:30 am and 1 to 3 pm
  Residents are invited to Inspire 555’s Spaces and Relationships workshop. This workshop will provide an opportunity to give input on how spaces inside the new facility should relate to each other, the access to the facility and the views that will be provided. An additional workshop will be available on Monday, June 3.

The following online public engagement opportunities are available:

• Official Plan survey: Our long-term goal is for Ottawa to grow into the most liveable mid-sized city in North America, and we need your insight to make this happen. We are collaborating with residents across the city to gather input on the key issues facing Ottawa today. Please let us know what matters to you by answering a few questions. Your input will help us create the plans and policies that guide the growth of Ottawa. The survey will be available until Friday, May 31.
  
• Inspire555 survey: The OPL and LAC Joint Facility will be a major multipurpose destination for tourist and residents in Ottawa. Residents are invited to participate to a survey to provide their input on how we should utilize key spaces.
  
• City of Ottawa Municipal Accessibility Plan survey: In following the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005, the City will consult with people with disabilities to develop the 2020-2024 City of Ottawa Municipal Accessibility Plan. The plan is designed to remove barriers and improve the accessibility of City programs, services and facilities. Residents can provide feedback by attending an in-person consultation, completing our online survey or requesting a community tool kit to host a consultation without City staff.
  
• Open Ottawa: The City provides free access to data and information through its Open Ottawa data portal. As part of the City’s Smart City 2.0 Strategy, we want to hear your ideas on how to improve the portal and what data sets you would like to see.
  
• Ottawa Rural Economic Development Strategy : The City is developing a Rural Economic Development Strategy and Action Plan, which will outline the City’s strategy and approach for economic growth in rural Ottawa. Residents are invited to provide their input on how the City can develop economic growth in rural Ottawa, which includes identifying key assets such as arts, culture, heritage, and tourism sites with the help of our interactive map.
  
• Rental Accommodations Study: The City is reviewing regulations to address public health and safety, consumer protection, community nuisances and other areas of municipal concern, as they pertain to private sector rental properties. Residents are invited to participate in workshops and take surveys regarding rental housing, student housing and short-term rentals (like Airbnb and Flipkey).

The City offers residents a variety of opportunities to engage, share information and collaborate.
