Inspire555 series continues with focus on Spaces and Relationships

Close to 600 hundred people are expected to take part in three workshops Saturday and Monday focused on the Spaces and Relationships for the new Ottawa Public Library (OPL) and Library and Archives Canada (LAC) joint facility.

Participants will have the chance to:

• Take a fresh look at what LAC and OPL spaces and services will be offered in the new facility, building on public input in 2016;
• Inspire a design that is flexible and can adapt to customer expectations for generations to come; and,
• Hear the architects share how input from the first phase of engagement has been considered and integrated into the design.

There will be three workshops:

Time: 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Date: Monday, June 3, 2019
Time: 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Place: Library and Archives Canada, Pellan Room, 395 Wellington Street

The workshops are part of a year-long local and national engagement process to inspire the design of an iconic facility destined to become an attraction for all visitors to the Capital and a community gathering place. The Inspire555 engagement series includes design workshops, pop-up events, and online engagement activities to inspire this new landmark destination. Later this year, further phases of engagement will focus on Sustainability, Iconic Features and Public and Indigenous Art.
