The City of Ottawa wants your input on the projects, policies, programs and services that affect your daily life. From open houses to workshops and online engagement opportunities, your feedback helps to shape City decisions.

  Inspire 555: Spaces and Relationships in-person workshop
  Library and Archives Canada, Pellan Room
  395 Wellington Street
  6:30 to 8:30 pm
  Residents are invited to Inspire 555’s Spaces and Relationships workshop. This workshop will provide an opportunity to give input on how spaces inside the new facility should relate to each other, the access to the facility and the views that will be provided.
  
• Thursday, June 6
  Chamberlain Avenue, Catherine Street and Isabella Street Functional Design Study
  Glashan Public School, Gymnasium
  28 Arlington Avenue
  5:30 to 8 pm, presentation at 6 pmResidents are invited to an Open House of the Chamberlain Avenue, Catherine Street and Isabella Street Functional Design Study. Residents will have an opportunity to review draft designs, learn more about the projects details and provide feedback.

The following online public engagement opportunities are available:

• Inspire555 survey: The OPL and LAC Joint Facility will be a major multipurpose destination for tourist and residents in Ottawa. Residents are invited to participate to a survey to provide their input on how we should utilize key spaces.
  
• City of Ottawa Municipal Accessibility Plan survey: In following the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005, the City will consult with people with disabilities to develop the 2020-2024 City of Ottawa Municipal Accessibility Plan. The plan is designed to remove barriers and improve the accessibility of City programs, services and facilities. Residents can provide feedback by attending an in-person consultation, completing our online survey or requesting a community tool kit to host a consultation without City staff.
  
• Open Ottawa: The City provides free access to data and information through its Open Ottawa data portal. As part of the City’s Smart City 2.0 Strategy, we want to hear your ideas on how to improve the portal and what data sets you would like to see.
  
• Mature Neighbourhoods Overlay and Alternative Provisions in Residential Development Areas : The City is proposing a new zoning strategy that would create new regulations for front and corner side yards that puts soft landscaping first, before driveways, parking, walkways and ground-level projections such as landings, stairs and porches. Residents can provide their comments on the new strategy until June 17, 2019.
  
• Ottawa Rural Economic Development Strategy : The City is developing a Rural Economic Development Strategy and Action Plan, which will outline the City’s strategy and approach for economic growth in rural Ottawa. Residents are invited to provide their input on how the City can develop economic growth in rural Ottawa, which includes identifying key assets such as arts, culture, heritage, and tourism sites with the help of our interactive map.
  
• Rental Accommodations Study: The City is reviewing regulations to address public health and safety, consumer protection, community nuisances and other areas of municipal concern, as they pertain to private sector rental properties. Residents are invited to participate in workshops and take surveys regarding rental housing, student housing and short-term rentals (like Airbnb and Flipkey).

The City offers residents a variety of opportunities to engage, share information and collaborate.
