Upcoming events and projects will have the following impacts on Ottawa traffic:
Airport Parkway – The Airport Parkway will have intermittent lane reductions from 9 pm to 6 am on weekdays and from 9 pm to 7 am on weekends, until Saturday, June 22. In addition, the on and off ramps at Hunt Club Road and Uplands Drive / Lester Road, will have intermittent nightly ramp closures for road rehabilitation.
Bronson Avenue – Both northbound lanes and one southbound lane will be closed on Bronson Avenue between Arlington and Chamberlain avenues, until the end of August 2019, as part of the Bronson Avenue Reconstruction Project. Only one southbound lane will remain open. Northbound traffic, including OC Transpo buses, will be detoured from Bronson Avenue, east along Chamberlain Avenue, north along Kent Street, west along Gladstone Avenue, then back to Bronson Avenue. Westbound access to Highway 417 will still be available via Catherine Street/Raymond Street. Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the construction period. Cyclists will be detoured northbound via Percy Street to Gladstone Avenue.
Elgin Street – Beginning on Monday June 10, Gladstone Avenue at Elgin Street will close for up to seven weeks for underground utility work and intersection reconstruction as part of the Elgin Street Renewal project. While closed, Frank Street will open to route traffic and transit across Elgin Street. The westbound cycling lane on Gladstone from Cartier to Elgin will be temporarily closed during this time.
Montreal Road – Beginning the week of Monday, June 10, there will be temporary daytime lane closures at the signalized intersections in off-peak periods on Montreal Road between Lacasse Avenue and Lafontaine Avenue/Granville Street for approximately one week. In addition, Lajoie Street between Montreal Road and Levis Avenue will be closed until Friday, June 14. This work is to temporarily wire the overhead traffic signals in preparation for the Montreal Road Revitalization project.
Road Closures related to flooding – Roads in West Carleton-March, Cumberland and Bay wards, have been closed due to flooding. Residents are advised to avoid areas impacted by flooding and can view up-to-date information on road closures on our Interactive Traffic Map.
Events
Orleans Beer Festival – From Thursday, June 6 to Sunday, June 9, Centrum Boulevard will be closed between Brisebois Crescent and Prestone Drive for the Orleans Beer Festival.
Ontario Federation of Labour marches – On Friday, June 7, traffic delays are expected from 4 pm to 6 pm for the Ontario Federation of Labour marches. The following locations will be impacted during the marches, additional routes may also be impacted:
