The City of Ottawa is initiating the replacement of public Wi-Fi infrastructure at its facilities that presently offer this service. In the meantime, there will be some temporary service interruptions.

Free Wi-Fi service, which is currently available in 26 City facilities, will be unavailable in all but four facilities starting Monday, June 17, while the service is being upgraded citywide. The four facilities that will continue to have uninterrupted free Wi-Fi service after Monday are:

  • Ottawa City Hall, 110 Laurier Avenue West
  • Ben Franklin Place, 101 Centrepointe Drive
  • Mary Pitt Place, 100 Constellation Drive
  • Walter Baker Sports Centre, 100 Malvern Drive

Installation of new Wi-Fi infrastructure will take place at all other facilities on a priority basis over the next few months and is expected to be completed by year-end. The new Wi-Fi infrastructure is expected to provide a broader and more reliable service at these locations.
