Looking to shake up your lunch hour or find something fun for the evening? There are a lot of cool activities at City Hall this July.
Looking to get moving? Here are few programs to tone your body over lunch:
Move Camp
A free bodyweight workout series providing a lunchtime fitness class to all Ottawa residents of all fitness levels. Join us in the courtyard on June 27, July 4, 11, and 18 from noon to 1 pm.
Masala Bhangra
A lifestyle program where the Dhol Drum beats meets the glamour of Bollywood. With easy to follow choreography, participants are encouraged to move, touch and inspire! People of all ages are invited to
Marion Dewar Plaza on July 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31 from noon to 1 pm.
Yoga
Find peace within, while developing and maintaining a strong and flexible body and mind. Some yoga mats will be available, bring your own if possible. Suitable for all levels. See you on the Lisgar Field on July 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30, from noon to 1 pm.
Nordic Walking
Learn the technique and the benefits of walking with poles. Bring a water bottle, sun protection, comfortable walking shoes and a smile. Loaner poles will be provided. Meet at Marion Dewar Plaza on July 15, 22, and 29 from 12:30 to 1:30 pm
Ottawa Dance Directive
Ottawa Dance Directive invites you to join its dancers as they move through the public spaces of City Hall. This improvised performance will surprise, connect, and delight the audience at every turn. . Join us at City Hall on July 22, and 29 from noon to 1 pm.
If you’re busy at noon but still want to get active, check out these evening activities:
MOOV Ottawa Dance
The only monthly Street Dance Battles in the city. These events are organized by Alea de Castro and Arnaldo Betancourt Silva, but made possible by the city's Street Dance community and Ottawa folk! This all ages and all skill level event is free to attend. See you on July 19 in Marion Dewar Plaza from 7 to 10 pm!
Salsa at City Hall
Salsa at City Hall is a free weekly Latin social dance event held every Wednesday from 6 to 11 pm. Each ‘party’ starts with a one-hour dance lesson, followed by social dancing and performances throughout the evening with some of the best Latin DJ’s the city has to offer. Meet on the Sens Rink of Dreams outside City Hall on July 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31.

Chamberfest - Bring the Kids Concerts
These family-friendly, and interactive performances teach young people about music-making in small ensembles. Chamberfest is the world’s largest chamber music festival, presenting 15 days of early music, core repertoire, contemporary music and fringe in churches and venues across downtown Ottawa. Check out a show inside City Hall in Jean Pigott Place on July 25 from 10 to 11 am.
Listen/Hear
The Listen/Hear live ambient music performance series takes place at the Jean Pigott Place in Ottawa City Hall on every non-holiday Monday from June 24 to September 9, 2019. Presented by Debaser in partnership with the City of Ottawa and the Ottawa Music Industry Coalition. Join us on July 8, 15, 22, and 29, from noon to 1 pm.
While at City Hall, don’t forget about the Karsh-Masson and City Hall art galleries, the City of Ottawa Archives exhibit Postcards from Ottawa, public art and the Ottawa Sports Hall of Fame.
