The equipment must be commercial-grade and contained in its original packaging. The acceptable equipment includes:
- N95 masks (1870+ or 1805)
- Surgical masks
- Procedural masks
- Face shields
- Gloves
- Protective gowns
- Protective goggles and glasses
- Hand sanitizers
- Disinfectant wipes
Note: While the offer is greatly appreciated, homemade personal protective equipment will not be accepted.
How to contact us
If you are interested in donating, send your offer of contribution to
donations@ottawa.ca(link sends e-mail). Please indicate the item(s), quantity, and whether they are commercial-grade and contained in the original packaging.
Drop-off or pick-up of items
You will receive an email response from the City asking whether you want to drop-off the items or have them picked up by City staff. For pick up requests, respond with your address. If you choose to drop-off your donation, we will provide you with delivery location and drop-off instructions.
Working with The Ottawa Hospital PPE donation efforts
The City is also in constant communication with The Ottawa Hospital, which is collecting, processing and storing all donated medical equipment, to help supply the many front-line healthcare staff across the Eastern Ontario region who are responding to the pandemic. You can contact The Ottawa Hospital at
COVIDdonations@toh.ca(link sends e-mail).
Community response
If you want to make a difference and have other items for donation – like food – or monetary contributions, contact the many agencies and charities helping support our community during the pandemic – especially vulnerable populations.
Thank you for your support
The City of Ottawa thanks you, in advance, for your assistance. While we have to keep our distances, we can still offer our hand to help and touch the lives of so many people in our community.
