路透多伦多5月12日 - 加拿大国家研究委员会(NRC)周二表示，中国的康希诺生物股份公司正在与其合作，为未来在加拿大进行新冠疫苗试验“铺平道路”。康希诺研发的疫苗是几种已进入临床试验阶段的新冠候选疫苗之一。

NRC表示，将扩大蒙特利尔的一家政府生产厂的生产线，用于生产康希诺的新冠候选疫苗，康希诺正准备向加拿大的药品监管机构加拿大卫生部提交临床试验申请。

康希诺开发的新冠疫苗正处于早期试验阶段，目前还无法知道它是否会有效。但如果疫苗有效，与康希诺合作可能有助于确保加拿大人能够使用疫苗。在本地试验中收集的数据可以让加拿大卫生部放心，疫苗是安全的，且本地生产可以确保加拿大能获得一些疫苗。

NRC表示，康希诺的疫苗使用NRC开发的一种细胞株进行生产，双方自2013年以来一直在合作。康希诺曾使用相同的细胞株开发了埃博拉疫苗。

在问及双方的合作是否会使加拿大卫生部在最终评估疫苗时将在中国收集的试验数据列入考量时，NRC和加拿大卫生部均未立即置评。
