Murtaugh said that none of the staffers who tested positive "or anyone in immediate contact will be at today’s rally or near attendees and elected officials."

Oklahoma's Tulsa County reports new daily high for coronavirus cases

Tulsa County, Oklahoma, reported a new record for daily coronavirus infections on Sunday, according to the county's health website.
There were 143 new coronavirus cases reported in Tulsa County in the past 24 hours, the website said.
This is the fifth day in a row the county has reported a new daily high for coronavirus cases in the county.
On Saturday, Tulsa County reported 136 new cases in a 24-hour period.
There are now 875 current active cases and 2,349 total cases in Tulsa County, the county's health website said.
Oklahoma State Department of Health reported 478 new coronavirus cases in the state on Sunday. The total number of the positive cases now stands at 10,515, according to the state health website.
Saturday's Trump campaign rally: President Trump held his first rally since the coronavirus pandemic began on Saturday in the Oklahoma city where the 1921 Tulsa race massacre left up to 300 Black residents dead and the Black Greenwood District in ruins.
Thousands of people, many wearing MAGA hats and waving American flags, arrived at Tulsa's Bank of Oklahoma Center arena, while a group of protesters chanted "Black lives matter" near one of the site's entrances.
Six staffers working on the Tulsa event have tested positive for the virus, the Trump campaign said Saturday.
People attending the rally on Saturday were not required to wear masks and agreed to a disclaimer that states they acknowledge the "inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present."

Herman Cain has died after being hospitalized with Covid-19

Herman Cain, the former presidential candidate and former CEO of Godfather’s Pizza, has died from coronavirus, according to an obituary sent from his verified Twitter account and Newsmax, where he was launching a television show.
Cain tested positive for Covid-19 on June 29 and was hospitalized on July 1 after developing symptoms serious enough to be hospitalized, according to the statement posted on Twitter.
Cain was a co-chair of Black Voices for Trump, and his last public appearance was as one of the surrogates at President Trump's June 20 rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Trump campaign spokesperson Tim Murtaugh told CNN at the time that Cain did not meet with Trump at the Tulsa rally.
It is unknown where Cain contracted the virus. Cain was pictured at the indoor rally not wearing a mask.
As a cancer survivor, Cain, age 74, was considered at an increased risk for coronavirus, according to US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance.

"Herman Cain – our boss, our friend, like a father to so many of us – has passed away," the statement on his website said, noting there were "hopeful indicators" in recent days that he'd recover but adding: "And yet we also felt real concern about the fact that he never quite seemed to get to the point where the doctors could advance him to the recovery phase."
Newsmax, which Cain recently joined, also posted an obituary confirming he died Thursday.
Former Cain staffer Ellen Carmichael tweeted Thursday morning: "I’m very saddened to learn of the passing of my former boss, Herman Cain. I’m bracing for the cruelty online about how he deserved to get COVID and die because of his politics. We’re living in a dark time. But, they didn’t know him. I did."
Just days ago, Cain’s staff said in several tweets he was undergoing oxygen treatment but his organs and other systems were strong.
Cain, the co-chairman of Black Voices for Trump, attended the president’s rally in Tulsa without a mask on June 20.
Cain was diagnosed in 2006 with stage 4 colon cancer that metastasized to his liver and was given a 30 percent chance of survival. He successfully underwent chemotherapy and had been in remission since.
Cain, who successfully steered food chains like Burger King and Godfather’s Pizza to profitability and served as chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, shot to prominence in 2012 when he launched a bid to be the Republican presidential nominee. While he had a strong following among Tea Party activists, his campaign was derailed when he was accused of sexual harassment and misconduct during his time as CEO of the National Restaurant Association in the late 1990s. He denied the claims but dropped out of the race.
Cain first entered politics in 1996, when he was a senior adviser on Bob Dole's presidential campaign.
Following his 2012 presidential bid, Cain launched T.H.E. New Voice, an advocacy group focused on tax reform, energy policy, and national security, and has become a frequent commentator on news outlets.
