The following projects will impact Ottawa traffic:
Airport Parkway – Two lanes will be closed on Airport Parkway northbound between the Heron Road eastbound and westbound ramps, from Friday, July 3 until Friday, July 17 to rehabilitate the Confederation Heights Bridge.
Bank Street canal bridge – The curb lanes in both the northbound and southbound directions on the Bank Street canal bridge have been converted to accommodate pedestrians and all active transportation users. The bridge now has one traffic lane and one lane for pedestrians and active transportation users in each direction, between Wilton Crescent and Echo Drive.
Heron Road – One lane will close in each direction on Heron Road under the Airport Parkway on weeknights, until September 2020 to rehabilitate the Confederation Heights Bridge. One lane in each direction will be maintained.
Highway 417 – A section of Highway 417 will fully close in both directions from 8 pm on Thursday, July 2 until 6 am on Monday, July 6, to replace the bridges over the Canadian Pacific Railway and Trillium Line O-Train tracks. On-ramps between Carling Avenue and Bronson Avenue will also close. Detour maps are available on ottawa.ca
Lester Road – Lester Road between Albion Road and Airport Parkway will close on Thursday, July 2 at 10 pm until Friday, July 3 at 5 am for construction of the Stage 2 O-Train South Extension. A signed detour will be in place.
Marchurst Road – Marchurst Road will close daily from 7 am until 5 pm between Murphy Side Road and Thomas A. Dolan Parkway until the end of July to replace culverts. A signed detour will be in place. Local traffic will be permitted and access for pedestrians and cyclists will maintained.
Queen Elizabeth Driveway – Queen Elizabeth Driveway between Laurier Avenue West and Fifth Avenue is closed to motorists daily from 8 am to 8 pm until Monday, September 7. Motorists can cross Queen Elizabeth Driveway from the Pretoria Bridge to access Pretoria Avenue. Access for emergency vehicles and OC Transpo buses will be maintained. This closure is a pilot project managed by the National Capital Commission to facilitate physical distancing. Please visit ncc-ccn.gc.ca for the status of the pilot project.
Rideau Street – Rideau Street between Sussex Drive and Dalhousie Street is closed to transit, traffic and cyclists until the end of 2020 for the Rideau Street and William Street renewal project. Sir George-Étienne Cartier Parkway – Sir George-Étienne Cartier Parkway between the Aviation Parkway and St. Joseph Boulevard is closed to motorists on weekends from 8 am to 4 pm until Monday, September 7. This closure is a pilot project managed by the National Capital Commission to facilitate physical distancing. Please visit ncc-ccn.gc.ca for the status of the pilot project.
Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway – The westbound lanes of Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway between Booth Street and Carling Avenue are closed to motorists on weekends from 8 am to 4 pm until Monday, September 7. This closure is a pilot project managed by the National Capital Commission to facilitate physical distancing. Please visit ncc-ccn.gc.ca for the status of the pilot project.
St. Laurent Boulevard – Motorists can expect intermittent lane reductions on St. Laurent Boulevard between Montreal Road and Donald Street, daily between 6 am and 3 pm and between 7 pm and 6 am, from Thursday July 2 until the beginning of November to resurface the road. A signed detour and a route for cyclists will be in place.
