The following projects will impact Ottawa traffic:
Bank Street canal bridge – The curb lanes in both the northbound and southbound directions on the Bank Street canal bridge, between Wilton Crescent and Echo Drive, have been converted to accommodate pedestrians and other active transportation users. The bridge now has one lane for traffic and one lane for active transportation in each direction.
Barnsdale Road – Barnsdale Road will close between Prince of Wales and Rideau Valley drives from Thursday, July 2 until mid-September to build a roundabout. Vehicles and cyclists will be detoured to Prince of Wales and Rideau Valley drives, with signs in place. Local traffic will be able to access Barnsdale Road from Rideau Valley Drive. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
Bronson Avenue – Bronson Avenue will have lane reductions between Brewer Way and Riverside Drive from Monday, July 6 until mid-October to improve transit facilities. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained.
Highway 417 – A section of Highway 417 will close in both directions from Thursday, July 2 at 8 pm until Monday, July 6 at 6 am, to replace the bridges over the train tracks. On-ramps between Carling and Bronson avenues will also close. There will be detours in place.
Queen Elizabeth Driveway – Queen Elizabeth Driveway between Laurier Avenue West and Fifth Avenue is closed to motorists daily from 8 am to 8 pm until Monday, September 7. Motorists can cross Queen Elizabeth Driveway from the Pretoria Bridge to access Pretoria Avenue. Access for emergency vehicles and OC Transpo buses will be maintained. This closure is a managed by the National Capital Commission to facilitate physical distancing. Please visit ncc-ccn.gc.ca for the status of the pilot project.
Sir George-Étienne Cartier Parkway – Sir George-Étienne Cartier Parkway between the Aviation Parkway and St. Joseph Boulevard is closed to motorists on weekends and statutory holidays from 8 am to 4 pm until Monday, September 7. This closure is a managed by the National Capital Commission to facilitate physical distancing. Please visit ncc-ccn.gc.ca for the status of the pilot project.
Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway – The westbound lanes of Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway between Booth Street and Carling Avenue are closed to motorists on weekends and statutory holidays from 8 am to 4 pm until Monday, September 7. This closure is a managed by the National Capital Commission to facilitate physical distancing. Please visit ncc-ccn.gc.ca for the status of the pilot project.
