Traffic impacts in Ottawa beginning Thursday, August 20

The following projects will impact Ottawa traffic:

  • Rideau Street – There are ongoing lane reductions at the Rideau Street and Sussex Drive/Colonel By intersection until Friday, August 28 for the Rideau Street and William Street renewal project. Rideau Street from Sussex Drive to Dalhousie Street remains closed until December. Visit OCTranspo.com for transit detour information.
  • Highway 417 – The on-ramps and off-ramps at Nicholas Street, Vanier Parkway and St. Laurent Boulevard will be closed on the following dates for paving:
    • Highway 417 eastbound off-ramp at St. Laurent Boulevard will be closed from Thursday, August 20 at 10 pm until Friday, August 21 at 5 am.
    • Highway 417 westbound off-ramp at Vanier Parkway will be closed from Thursday, August 20 at 10 pm until Friday, August 21 at 5 am.
    • Nicholas Street south to the Highway 417 eastbound on-ramp will be closed from Thursday, August 20 at 11 pm until Friday, August 21 at 12:30 am.
    • Highway 417 eastbound off-ramp at Nicholas Street will be closed from Friday, August 21 at 12:30 am until Friday, August 21 at 3 am.
    • Highway 417 westbound off-ramp at Nicholas Street will be closed from Friday, August 21 at 3 am until Friday, August 21 at 5 am.
  • Huntmar Drive and Richardson Side Road – Huntmar Drive from Richardson Side Road to Paine Avenue and Richardson Side Road from Trinity Presbyterian Church to Huntmar Drive will be closed from Friday, August 21 at 6 pm until Monday, August 24 at 6 am for roundabout construction. Detours will be in place for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians.
  • Highway 174 – The Blair Road Highway 174 eastbound off-ramp will be closed from Sunday, August 23 at 10 pm until Monday, August 24 at 5 am. The eastbound on-ramp will be closed from Monday, August 24 at 10 pm until Tuesday, August 25 at 5 am for streetlighting work. Signed detours will be in place for motorists.
  • Earl Armstrong Road – Earl Armstrong Road from Limebank to Bowesville roads will have daily intermittent lane closures from Monday, August 24 until October between 7 am and 10 pm to rehabilitate the road. Traffic controllers will be on site to direct motorists and cyclists through construction. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
  • Fairbairn Street – Fairbairn Street from Sunnyside to Belmont avenues and Belmont Avenue from Fairbairn Street to Riverdale Avenue will be closed to traffic from Tuesday, August 25 until the end of the year for watermain, sewer and road reconstruction work. Signed detours will be in place for motorists, pedestrians and cyclists. Local access will be maintained.
