Candidates and registered third parties for the 2020 Cumberland By-election can place election signs on public property starting Saturday, September 5. This date marks 30 days before Voting Day, which is Monday, October 5.

Regulations for election signs on public property in Ottawa are set out in the Signs on City Roads By-law, and all signs must conform.

Signs on public property cannot be placed along highways or in a median, and must be at least 50 centimetres from a sidewalk. In areas with no sidewalks, signs must be at least two metres from the roadway or, if the roadway has a shoulder, at least 50 centimetres from the edge of the shoulder.

Election signs on both private and public property must be removed within 48 hours after Voting Day
