Why is YouTube blocked in China?

Again, and again, and again, Youtube is not banned in China.

If Youtube was willing to do what ByteDance did about Tik Tok:

  • Setting up servers in the US;
  • Hiring American employees as managment team;
  • Using American internet services;
  • Following all American laws and voluntarily under the survilliance of NSA
then Youtube, along with Facebook, Twitter, Google, etc. can all have their business in China.

Just like American authority, China is also worried about foreign SNS instigating people against Chinese government. The difference is that there is no evidence that China has ever done such a thing, but dozens of cases proving US did so, Arab Spring, Ukraine revolution, collapse of USSR, etc.

If the US could dictate that anything related to the US must be decided by the US, such as any sales of product which has more than 25% of American components, then China should have the jurisdiction of allowing foreign companies running business in China. Thinking what if Tik Tok is purely in China?
