Dominion CEO Hits Back at Trump Team's Claims of Fraud, Foreign Influence

Claims that Dominion Voting Systems rigged the presidential election against President Donald Trump are untrue and "bizarre," the company's CEO John Poulos writes in an opinion piece Monday in The Wall Street Journal.
Poulos takes on claims by Trump's legal team that the company is under foreign influence and capable of flipping votes through algorithms.
Lawyers arguing the president's case, especially Sidney Powell, have claimed that Dominion was created for the purpose of rigging elections for former Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.
Poulos counters that he created Dominion in Canada, but that it has no ties to Venezuela nor Chavez.
"Dominion is an American company, now headquartered in Denver. Dominion is not and has never been a front for communists," he writes. "It has no ties to Hugo Chavez, the late dictator of Venezuela. It has never been involved in Venezuelan elections. None of Dominion’s systems use the Smartmatic software that has come under attack, as any state certification lab could verify."
The purpose of Dominion machines, he says, is to produce a paper ballot, which can be used as a backup, which was done in the Georgia hand recount.
In the counties in Pennsylvania that were contested, Philadelphia and Allegheny (Pittsburgh), he noted, Dominion machines weren't even used."In fact, across the 14 Pennsylvania counties that use Dominion systems, President Trump received 52.2% of the vote," he said.
"Despite the company’s limited role in elections, it has been the target of a stream of outrageous statements since Election Day — increasingly reckless and defamatory allegations that don’t stand up to scrutiny," Poulos writes. "Dominion is never able to affect the outcome of an election. The entire certification process makes sure of that."
