What’s new​

Here’s the City’s weekly roundup of information in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. You can also get daily City updates on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram:

• The City of Ottawa is supporting the administering of the vaccine to residents locally. Visit the City’s COVID-19 Vaccine Distribution page for more information and check out our FAQs page for answers to questions frequently asked by residents.
• City staff and external partners have been adjusting existing plans in response to updated direction from the Province respecting Phase 1 priority populations, which was released on February 14, 2021.
• Vaccination efforts are continuing through multiple delivery agents simultaneously including the Wabano Centre for Aboriginal Health and the Akausivik Inuit Family Health Team.
• This weekend, mobile vaccination teams will continue to administer first dose vaccines to retirement home residents.
• The Ottawa Hospital clinic will reopen and serve highest priority healthcare workers defined by the Province to include hospital and acute care staff in frontline roles as well as medical first responders, including frontline members of the Ottawa Paramedic Service and Ottawa Fire Services, and community health care providers serving specialized populations. Further engagement with other health care workers in the highest priority category is ongoing.
• More information, including the location of future community clinics and other logistical considerations, will be provided to Council at its regular meeting next Wednesday.   
• The number of vaccines received and doses administered are available in the ‘Vaccination and Testing’ section of Ottawa Public Health’s Daily COVID-19 Dashboard. To date, more than 40,000 doses have been administered in Ottawa.
• OC Transpo launches customer trial to offer new touchless payment choices during the COVID-19 pandemic.

• Ottawa is back in the Orange zone and there are many reasons to stay focused on being vigilant. This video is a massive one. Please watch it.
• With schools open, it's imperative to be mindful of COVID screening and testing/isolating guidelines. So, we’ve made these flowcharts to help!
• Attention employers: What is active screening? Make sure workers have completed a COVID-19 screening, review their answers, make sure they aren’t reporting symptoms and are okay to begin their shift. Learn more.
• Ottawa Public Health is working with Indigenous-serving health centres to provide COVID-19 vaccinations to First Nations, Inuit, and Metis communities in Ottawa.

In case you missed it​

• With mobile vaccination teams, the City, Ottawa Public Health, the Ottawa Paramedic Service and the Ottawa Hospital are working together to meet the challenge of vaccinating Ottawa residents against COVID-19.
• The City is gradually restarting in-person services now that Ottawa has moved into Orange-Restrict status in the Province’s COVID-19 response framework.
