The City of Ottawa is adding resources today to deal with the provincial over-bookings for community vaccination clinics.

Excess appointments were booked at the Eva James Memorial Community Centre and Ruddy Family YMCA-YWCA on March 23, 24 and 25 due to issues within the provincial booking system.

To address the issue, the City added resources and vaccination capacity by opening a temporary clinic at the François Dupuis Recreation Centre in Orléans and by expanding service at the Nepean Sportsplex.

In addition, the City is using shuttle buses to transport residents who were double-booked by the Province, and who have not had their appointment re-booked.

The City has buses to transport residents from the Eva James Memorial Community Centre and the Ruddy Family YMCA-YWCA to another vaccination site. Residents are not required to use the shuttle but still need to go the Eva James Memorial Community Centre first. COVID-19 protocols are in place to ensure the safety of the riders and the driver, and wearing a mask is mandatory. Shuttles will be in service until later today.

Residents who have not received a phone call or email to re-schedule their appointment, should proceed to the appointment as planned. To enable physical distancing and to reduce the number of people in the clinic, please arrive for your vaccine no more than 10 minutes before your appointment time.
