The City’s Audit Committee today received an interim workplan from Auditor General Nathalie Gougeon, outlining four new audits that will commence in 2021:

  • Audit of the Competitive Procurement Process
  • Audit of Grants and Contributions
  • Audit of Prevention of Workplace Violence and Harassment
  • Pandemic Response Audit

Work on the pandemic response audit will only begin after the pandemic is in a controlled state.

The Committee also received reports on follow-ups to eight audits:

  • The 2011 audit of the Human Resources Master Plan
  • The 2015 audit of Information Technology Governance
  • The 2015 audit of Information Technology Risk Management
  • The 2015 audit of Information Technology Security Incident Handling and Response
  • The 2017 audit of Information Technology Remote Access
  • The 2017 audit of the Social Housing Registry
  • The 2017 audit of the Regulatory Framework for Light Rail Transit
  • The 2018 review of the City’s practices for the Procurement of Commercial Vehicles

Follow-ups are part of a complete audit process. They ensure the recommendations committed to by management and approved by Council have been effectively implemented.

The Auditor General found that the City implemented or made progress on recommendations in all eight follow-up reports and noted where more work is needed to complete all recommendations.

These reports will rise to Council on Wednesday, May 12.
