The draft Emergency Management Tool Kit will:
Emergencies can happen anywhere and at any time. Almost every community will experience an emergency, and some can have a big impact on its residents, services, and businesses.
During the first few days of an emergency, it could take some time for emergency responders to reach everyone in need. That makes it even more important that individuals, families, and communities be prepared to take care of themselves, especially for the first 72 hours. During this time, everyone has a role in knowing how to help themselves and those around them.
By learning how communities can work together and with local emergency responders during an emergency, they become stronger and better able to manage and recover from the impacts.
This Tool Kit is meant for any community group that wishes to increase its ability to keep its members safe during an emergency. This Tool Kit is also meant to help any person within a community who would like to know how to develop a personal or family emergency plan.
We want to hear from you today. Take some time to review the draft Tool Kit in our Document Library and then complete the survey by May 28 to let us know what you think. It’s a long document, but the safety and wellbeing of you and your community are worth the effort.
