The Ottawa Paramedic Service is offering residents free CPR and Automated External Defibrillator training. The CPR classes will be held at various locations across Ottawa. The next class takes place this Sunday, November 23 at the Villas at Riverside South Community Association.

The CPR class will be offered to residents in other parts of the city over the coming months. Registration is limited to 50 people. Please check the list of upcoming classes for the location nearest you.

The CPR class includes a short lecture on injury prevention, CPR and the Automated External Defibrillator, followed by group break-outs for clinical training.

Ottawa Paramedics will display the medical equipment they use as part of their work. They will also provide training of the Automated External Defibrillator, the units used in the City’s Public Access Defibrillator (PAD) program. The PAD program now has defibrillator units in more than 135 police vehicles and in over 175 other locations across the city. Ottawa has the most extensive PAD program in Canada.
