Traffic impacts in Ottawa beginning Friday, July 2

The following projects will impact Ottawa traffic:

  • Highway 174 The following Highway 174 ramps and lanes will close for Stage 2 LRT roadwork:
    • The Highway 174 eastbound lanes will close nightly between Tenth Line Road and Trim Road from 8 pm to 6 am from Tuesday, July 6 to Thursday, July 8.
    • The eastbound on-ramp from Place d’Orléans Drive will close nightly from 8 pm to 6 am from Tuesday, July 6 to Thursday, July 8.
  • Redwood Avenue will close from Richmond Road to Byron Avenue until the evening of Wednesday, July 7.
  • Hunt Club Road will be reduced to one eastbound lane between Airport Parkway and Mac Street from 7 pm to 6 am on Monday, July 5 and Thursday, July 8 for Stage 2 LRT work.
  • Montreal Road will be reduced to one lane of traffic per direction under the Highway 174 overpass until mid-July for Stage 2 LRT work. The road will close nightly from 6 pm to 6 am starting Monday, July 5 to Saturday, July 10 and again from Monday, July 12 to Thursday, July 15. Access ramps to and from the highway will remain open.
  • Orangeville Street will close between Rochester and Lebreton streets from Monday, July 5 to November 2025 for the construction of the Province of Ontario’s midtown rapid bridge lift replacement project.
  • Raymond Street will close between Booth and Rochester streets from Monday, July 5 to October 2022 for the construction of the Province of Ontario’s midtown rapid bridge lift replacement project.
  • Bankfield Road will have intermittent daytime lane reductions in both directions and nighttime lane closures, east of First Line Road to Rideau Valley Drive, beginning Sunday, July 4 until late July for road rehabilitation work. Personnel will be on site to direct traffic. Local access, as well as pedestrian and cyclist traffic will be maintained.
  • The Flora Footbridge, connecting Queen Elizabeth Drive and Colonel By Drive over the Rideau Canal, will close between 6 pm and 11 pm on Wednesday, July 7 for warranty work. Pedestrians and cyclists will be detoured to use either the Pretoria Bridge or Bank Street during this time. Signage will be in place. In the event of a rain delay, this work will be rescheduled to Thursday, July 8.
