Hi guys,

Here is another reply from the ministrerial Enquiries Division, Executive Services, CIC. A crappy one, I think.

Dear Mr. M,

Thanks you for your letter of Semptember 28, 2003, addressed to the Honourable Denis Coderre, Minister of CIC, converning processing times for citizenship applications.

I appreciate the desire of the members in your group to have your applications for Canadian citizenship processed as expeditiously as possible. Applications for citizenship services are processed by mail at the Case Processing Centre(CPC) Sydney. Once the CPC's processing is complete, files are forwarded, where applicable, to local offices or overseas missions. For a better understanding of the process, please refer to the enclosed information on 'Overview of the Procedures for Grant-of-Citizenship Applications and Processing Applications for Canadian Citizenship'. The Departmental Delivery Network is responsible for the overall administration and management of CPC Sydney.

It takes approximately 12 months from the time the CPC Sydney receives an application to the time of the ceremony for a straightforward application. However, in larger contres such as the ones in the Ontario region, the high volumn of applications results in loger processing times. For the Citizenship and Immigration Centre in Ottawa, average processing information about an applicant's background or residence will definitely require longer processing times. For case update beyond normal processing times, please contact our Call Center at 1-888-242-2100. Information on citizenship and immigration programs or policies is available on our web site at www.cic.gc.ca

Thanks you for writing and expressing your concerns. I trust that the information provided is of assistance.

**** CIC!
Why Totonto and Vancouer are not larger contres?

a bullshit letter.

We wanted to know why the processing time at Ottawa office are painfully slow while the time at offices of other big cities is much shorter.

Fourth letter on this:

I was copied on this letter from a special assistant, Ontarion Region, CIC, to our Ottawa-Vanier M.P., time-stamped on Nov.6, 2003, which I received today.

Dear Mr. Belanger:

I wish to acknowledge receipt of your correspondence dated October 27, 2003, addressed to the Honourable Denis Coderre, Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, concerning landed immigrants that are applying for Canadian citizenship.

Please be assured that your letter will be brought to the Minister's attention at the earliest opportunity.

Yours sincerely
