Severe thunderstorm warning in effect for:

Ottawa North - Kanata - Orléans
At 7:19 p.m. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts and up to ping pong ball size hail.

This severe thunderstorm is located near Beech Grove, moving southeast at 25 km/h.

Hazard: Ping pong ball size hail and 90 km/h wind gusts.

Source: Large hail reported in Quebec.

Locations impacted include:
Ottawa, Fitzroy Provincial Park, Carp, Kanata, Nepean, Galetta, Kinburn, Marathon, Dunrobin, Malwood, Mud Pond, South March, Stittsville, Hazeldean, Shirleys Bay, Lac Deschênes, Aylmer (Gatineau), Mud Lake, Barrhaven and Nepean Bay..

Summary
Elevated pollution levels are expected or occurring.

High levels of air pollution are possible tonight due to smoke.

Smoke plumes from active forest fires in northwestern Ontario might cause deteriorated air quality for portions of eastern Ontario tonight. Conditions may persist into Monday.

If you or those in your care are exposed to wildfire smoke, consider taking extra precautions to reduce your exposure. Wildfire smoke is a constantly-changing mixture of particles and gases which includes many chemicals that can be harmful to your health.
