ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE

When working in kitchen:
  • PATIENCE: in both learning, task execution, adjusting and fixing your mistakes
  • CRICTICAL THINKING & MEMORIZATION: listening skills to different styles of Cantonese cuisine cooking. example: woking cooking, simple recipe to battered deep fryer
  • FAMILY & FRIENDLY: treat this working environment as friendly to both staff and customers, understand OUR recipe of cooking and not just your own preferred style

BACKGROUND/QUALIFICATIONS

Entry Level: Willing to train the right candidate
Ontario Registered Food Handling Certificate

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Language: Chinese & English

Salary: To be discussed in person/interview
Benefit: we supply snacks breaks and dinner time

Schedule:
  • 8 hour shift Sunday to Thursday; 3pm to 11pm
  • 9 hour shift Friday to Saturday 3pm to 12am
Ability to commute/relocate:
  • 3500 Barrhaven Crossing Center - google map us
  • Parking is always available in this plaza



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Wok Cooking:
  • Cooking Fried Rice
  • Understanding, adapting, listening skills to different styles of Cantonese cuisine cooking
Deep Fryer & Maintenance:
  • food deep frying preparation. ex: chicken wings, battered shrimp or chicken, egg rolls... etc
  • prepping and making chicken balls
  • Maintenance and stainless steel cleaning of deep fryer
Vegetable & Meat Prep:
  • Importance of knives safety and your colleague surroundings
  • Proper lifting techniques of heavy objects. 20lbs to 50lbs
  • Egg Roll preparation and wrapping; requires discipline, learning, practice
End of the Day Cleaning:
  • Dish washing, we supply gloves and aprons
  • wok stove and other counter tops cleaning and wipe down
  • Flooring sweeping and mopping
Overall condition of the job: Job obviously require more than what is suggested above, but you'll never be bored, a lot of repetitive type of work and critical thinking. Understand how to monitor the inventory and ingredients you're working with.
